Job Management Dashboard launched

To meet fashion recruiters’ needs and make their jobs more efficient and transparent FashionUnited has launched a dashboard where recruiters can easily manage their vacancies. It is a complete solution, which allows recruiters to add, edit and unpublish job vacancies as well as view associated applicants.
What makes the new Dashboard unique is the simplicity of the interface without any loss of functionality.

In the new tool recruiters can choose from three job posting modalities. Depending on the layout, you can make your posting more or less visually complex.
The new Job Management Dashboard allows recruiters to be on top of their job postings at any moment:

  • checking how many jobs are online and how many had been archived
  • checking how many applications each vacancy has received
  • modifying the placement of the ads
  • All jobs posted through the FashionUnited HR Dashboard can also be published automatically on the recruiter’s own company website with the job embedder tool.

We believe the new, intuitive Job Management Dashboard answers contemporary recruiter’s needs and helps them find the perfect candidate efficiently and fast.

360 degree view into leading industry events

The FashionUnited team of international editors work hard to ensure we always remain at the peak of industry’s innovations 24/7, which is why FashionUnited has featured strong visuals such as photographs, videos and soundbites alongside of to-the-point news articles. In addition, FashionUnited is always up to date with the latest technology, reflected in our recent use of 360 degree photographs and videos for store openings, trade fairs and fashion week shows.

"We are always looking for new and innovative ways to tell stories and engage with our audience. Using 360 degree footage, although still in its infancy, is a great way to do that. It offers us the chance to take our readers to the front row of fashion week, or backstage. It also lets us take them on a virtual tour through some of the industry's leading trade shows or behind the scene at new store opening. We believe 360 photographs and videos are a great asset in transferring that initial feeling of excitement to the readers”, says Esmee Blaazer, Project Manager at FashionUnited.

    360 degree videos

The 360 degree videos are made with a special camera that is able to capture its entire surroundings simultaneously. This allows the viewer to experience the event through the eyes of an actual visitor. Scrolling with the mouse via laptop will enable to ‘look’ around the space. The same is possible via smartphone or tablet by using your finger to ‘look around’. Watching the video on fullscreen and sound allows a full experience.

    360 degree photographs

Also 360 degree photographs are the visual of choice for many FashionUnited interactive reports. ‘Tags’ in the shape of a circle allow the viewer to unlock narrative elements directly from the image. By clicking on these tags more information, related photos or videos are being revealed.

FashionUnited wins keyword court case against Fashion Group

FashionUnited has won the court case against Fashion Group, which sued the online B2B fashion platform for using the keyword “fashion jobs” in its meta data. Both Fashion Group and FashionUnited list jobs in the fashion industry online.

Fashion Group owned the trademark to “fashion jobs”. FashionUnited, active in more than 20 countries, is using “fashion jobs” to describe what users can expect to find when visiting its platform. Also for its French website,, the English keywords “fashion jobs” are being used, harming the trademark rights, according to Fashion Group. On Friday, 27th of November, the High Court of Paris decided that the descriptive trademark “fashion jobs” can’t be protected. For that reason, Fashion Group not only lost the court case, but also no longer owns the trademark, particularly in relation with advertising services.

“We are glad that we won this keyword court case”, said Lena Steffen, FashionUnited’s SEO specialist. “Choosing the most suitable keyword to describe your services is a vital part of your business. Visitors need to know what kind of information they can find on your website. We are a one-stop-shop fashion platform and fashion jobs are an integral part of it.”

Sabine Lipovetsky from Paris based law firm Kahn et Associés represented FashionUnited in the court case. FashionUnited hopes that this case contributes to new jurisprudence to protect the freedom and usability of the internet.
